Zoe Mitchell is an award-winning former corporate leader, certified speaker, and coach who now helps leaders and caregivers create emotionally safe, inclusive environments where both children and adults can thrive. She teaches the principles of Psychological Safety, not just as a workplace idea, but as a powerful tool for building trust, confidence, and connection in classrooms, childcare spaces, and homes.

Her work shows that when children feel safe to express themselves, make mistakes, and be who they are, their learning, behavior, and emotional development all improve. Zoe helps educators, ECEs, homecare providers and their colleagues, apply these ideas in simple, practical ways, whether they work in a team or on their own.

Zoe is also the author of Inclusive Leadership Now, and regularly speaks on how to build cultures of care, respect, and belonging. She believes that when caregivers feel supported and seen, they’re better able to offer that same safety to the children in their care.

Workshop

Building diverse, equitable, and inclusive early years and childcare facilities is your aspiration. However, subtle biases can result in excluding some of the children and families that you serve. By becoming more aware of your language, actions and thought patterns, you can increase inclusion and equity in your daily interactions with children.

• Recognize specific bias that impact children

• Understand how language and behaviours impact marginalized children

• Identify and remove inclusion blockers
